BB Cream stands for Blemish Balm Cream, so it help to cover any blemishes that you have.
BB Cream is very popular in Asia, and Korea is the one who started this phenomenal.
If you look the pictures or movie or music video of Korean artists, they skin is look so flawless, not too made up but still have this pretty coverage on their face. Many people were asking, and bam! BB cream fever is on.
"Some are said to have skin whitening or brightening properties. Others are anti-acne, some are anti-wrinkle, some are intended to even out skin tone, and yet others to lighten blemish scars." - Wikipedia. Yes it's true, there are different purposes of BB Cream. one of mine is for veil blemishes.
It can be use on daily basis, because the formula is not too heavy like foundation.
I have two bb creams that still available to use, so I want to post a review of these two.
First one is Quick & Clean Oil Free Blemish Balm from The FaceShop. I bought this with others Quick & Clean products like the toner and the serum, and my cousin said her friend use this BB cream for acne skin, so she recommended this one for me.
The description of the product says "A protective moisturizer that shootes and naturally veils blemishes. Formulated with our enhanced Quick'n Clear Complex and Malt extract, this oil-free protective moisturizer soothes the skin while providing natural coverage to hide flaws."
I love how it feels on my skin, because you know, when you put a liquid or creamy thing on your face, sometimes it gives you a wet or sticky feeling, but this BB Cream is not doing that.
It also stays long, I wore it all day, and it did a good job. One more thing, the oil-free label is proven. :)
The only minor problem with this BB Cream is it has a greyish color, so maybe for some people it will look weird, but my skin face color is kinda pale, so I don't have a huge problem with it.
FYI, I usually just apply BB Cream on my face, not adding any powder, because I don't want my face look too cakey. BUT, if the sun is very mean outside, I just apply a little of powder on my T-Zone.
The second one is Precious Mineral BB Cream All Day Strong from Etude House.
I looked the back of this BB Cream, and the description is written in Korean (hangul), well well, let's use google translator.
Basicly, the description said about :
- All Day Strong, which is true. :)
- Clean and immaculate skin throughout the day. The coverage is light to medium, good enough but if you have an acne scars like me, it doesn't give a perfect coverage, which is normal because hey, this is a bb cream, not a foundation. :p
- Mineral BB Cream
- Oil Free
- Petrolatum Free. I read some of articles about Petrolatum, one of them says " Petrolatum is used in the formulation of a variety of product types, including bath products, cleansing products, skin care products, makeup, shampoos, permanent waves, hair conditioners, shaving products, and suntan product." but the other article says it's dangerous to use a product that has a petrolatum in it.
My opinion? Petrolatum free is better.
- Ethanol Free, which is GOOD. From wikipedia : "Best known as the type of alcohol found in alcoholic beverages, it is also used in thermometers, as a solvent, and as a fuel. In common usage, it is often referred to simply as alcohol or spirits. I bet no one would like to have this ingredient on their face.
- Paraben Free. Parabens are a class of chemicals widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries. But nowadays, companies search for paraben free alternatives.
Oh, and the coverage is kinda same with Quick'n Clear BB Cream, light to medium.
The Precious Mineral BB Cream has SPF30, which is good for me and my fellow friends in Indonesia. The sun is sometimes act like a "witch", so mean.
